7 Reasons Vaughan Is The Best Toronto Suburb To Live In

Vaughan is “The City Above Toronto.”

It’s the city blew up in the early 2000’s…

Not literally. The population grew exponentially.

From 1996 to 2006, Vaughan was the fastest-growing city in Canada (with a population growth rate of 80.2% according to Statistics Canada)

It’s currently the 5th largest city in the Greater Toronto Area with over 306,223 people (2016 census).

So why has Vaughan made its mark on the map? Other than the booming real etsate market and one of the most beautiful yet well healthy prices houses for sale in vaughan.

Its still ranked as one of the best suburbs of Toronto
Why is it the best place to live in the Greater Toronto Area?

Well, for starters, you probably didn’t know it’s the second home to famous comedian, Russell Peters (when he’s not in LA, of course)…

But if that’s not enough, you might even spot 3 NHL players, Anthony Cirelli, Frank Corrado, and Andrew Cogliano hanging around, as Vaughan is their hometown.

But… besides the famous people you may end up encountering, Vaughan has an incredible lineup of exciting places to see and enjoyable activities every week.

And don’t worry… I’m not going to tell you one of these activities is “You can go visit Toronto for the day!” There’s a reason the population by 80% in 10 years. There’s more than enough in Vaughan to always entertain.

Be warned… once you visit Vaughan, there’s a good chance you won’t want to leave.

Here are 7 Reasons Vaughan Is The Best Toronto Suburb To Live In

1. Boost Your Adrenaline At Canada’s Wonderland

Coming in at number one we have Canada’s Wonderland. Considering it’s the most popular attraction in Vaughan, you’ll definitely want to go here.

It features 200 attractions in the park, including 15 adrenaline-boosting roller coasters, the most intense being Leviathan – the fastest (and tallest) rollercoaster in Canada that drops down 93 meters. If you’re really brave, you’ll know for sure once you see how big it is.

Canada’s Wonderland is the ultimate attraction for kids in the city. But don’t worry, adults are welcome too. In fact, you’ll probably end up having more fun than the kids (it offers a perfect date night idea).

2. Go Visit One Of Canada’s Biggest Malls – Vaughan Mills

Right beside Canada’s Wonderland is the famous Vaughan Mills.

With over 13 million people visiting this mall every year, it has a ton to offer.
Visit over 200 retail shops, and 35 restaurants, you could spend all day there and still not see everything.

Some of the top places to check out include Bass Pro Shops, Nordstrom, Forever 21, Lululemon, and of course… Chipotle

3. Dive Into The Greatest Lego Experience In Canada

One store in Vaughan Malls I intentionally forgot to mention because it deserves its own bullet point is none other than Legoland Discovery Centre Toronto.

If you’re wanting to experience the craziest lego attraction in the country, you have to go here.

There are 14 attractions in the Centre, including a Lego store, play zone, and even a 3D theatre. Take a tour of the factory and even take a look at the mini version of Toronto made out of Lego (it even lights up and moves around)

4. Immerse Yourself In The Golf Capital Of Canada

If you’re an avid golfer, then you’ve already heard of it.

The National Golf Club of Canada is the epicentre of Canadian golf.

It is commonly referred to as the top golf course in the country. Lawrence Martin of the Globe and Mail called it “…a Rembrandt, a masterpiece.”

Besides the prestigious National Golf Club of Canada, there are more than enough courses in Vaughan to try in a year. Some of the other clubs include Eagles Nest Golf Club, Thornhill Golf & Country Club, and Copper Creek Golf Club

5. Bird Watching At Boyd Conservation Area

The Boyd Conservation Area is one of the top spots in the city if you love the outdoors.

If you’re into bird watching, then this is the main attraction here.

The area offers a wide variety of unique and stunning birds, and even more.

Strap on your hiking boots (or trail runners) and go on a hike through the various trails in the area.

It’s also a great area to have a picnic and spend time with the kids, as it has a football field, some basketball courts, and a playground.

6. Go Horseback Riding At Kortright entre For Conservation

Journey to the center of Vaughan to find the Kortright Centre For Conservation.

It’s a 325 hectare conservation area inside a pine and maple forest offering up one major attraction among many: horses.

With over 100,000 people who ride here every year, it’s one of the biggest attractions in the province. Take up a steed and feel the wind in your face as you ride into the cool Northern grass of the woodlands.

Like the Boyd Conservation Centre, it’s also a great place to get outside, go hiking and see wildlife.

The Centre also offers children’s programs, sustainability tours, private events, and family events.

7.  Try Not To Get Eaten By The Largest Crocodile In The Country at Reptilia

Just when you thought Vaughan had enough of Canada’s biggest this and most famous that, there’s more.

One of the most fascinating attractions the city has to offer is Reptilia, Canada’s largest indoor reptile zoo. It’s a 15,000 square foot indoor exhibit that holds over 250 reptiles, ambibians, and arachnids. In Reptilia, you get to interact with reptiles from all around the world.

Even if you’re not daydreaming of lizards and iguanas all day long as some people do, you’ll want to check it out. Besides the 14 foot long king cobra and 20 foot long pythons, there is one very big reason to go.

In fact, it’s a 1,000 pound reason. At Reptilia, you will meet quite possibly the scariest, nastiest creature in Canada…

His name is Induna and he is a 4.3 metre long crocodile weighing in at over 1,000 pounds.

He’s over 14 feet long and is nearly as heavy as a car.

Just don’t get too close. Can you imagine how hungry a 1,000 pound crocodile must get?
