This city is located in the province of Alberta, Canada. This city is 33Km south of the provincial capital of Edmonton and this city is the part of the Edmonton Metropolitan Region.

 

Population and Demographics:

According to the 2019 municipal census, the city has a population of 33,032 individuals. This represents a change of 1.8% in population from the 2018 municipal census population of 33,448 individuals. Statistics Canada conducted the 2016 Census of population and this census represents the population of 29,993 out of which 11,310 of individuals living in total 12,264 private dwellings. This shows an increase in 23.4% of the population from 2011 when the population was 24,304. In 2016 the city had a population density of 706.7 per kilometer square with a land area of 42.44-kilometer square. The 2017 census revealed that the population had a growth rate of 2% with a population of 31,130. The 2011 census represents that city’s population of 24,279 individuals out of which 9,290 living in total dwellings. This shows an increase in 43.1% of the population from 2006 when it was 16,967. The city had a population density of 656.7 km-2 with the land area of 36.97-kilometer squares.

 

Educational Background:

Leduc city has a number of educational opportunities in the city and greater region, including adult learning. Black Gold School Division No.18 governed Public schools in Leduc city. The BlackBoard provides its services to 30 schools which include 1 home-based school and 2 outreach locations and over 10,500 students in communities of Calmar, City of Leduc, New Sarepta, Beaumont, Devon, and Thorsby. St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Schools is the medium-sized, rural/urban division of school which consists of over 3,700 students in 10 schools in the Leduc region. The famous colleges and universities in Leduc city are Edmonton Clinic health academy, Taylor college, and seminary, business career college, an academy of learning.

 

Communities and culture:

The city is experiencing a revival with new communities and residents. Leduc sits next to the behemoth of the Edmonton International Airport and has many recent economic drivers with nearby $61.5 million Century Mile Entertainment Centre. As this city is fifteen minutes south of Edmonton, almost 60% of its over 34,000 inhabitants both live and work in the community.   This city is home to Maclab center for Performing Arts, a leading performing arts facility with 460-seat theatre. Leduc Recreation Centre was opened in fall 2009. The 309,000 square feet include the 3 NHL- sized arenas, a curling rink, and an aquatic center.
