September 2023 outlook:

Mississauga’s average home sold price is up by 1.7% year-over-year to $1,112,531 for September 2023.

In September 2023, the housing market in Mississauga experienced a minor decline in home prices, with Mississauga home prices falling by 2% from the previous month after rising by 6% the month before. The average price of a property sold in Mississauga for September 2023 was $1,112,531, down 2% monthly and up 2% yearly. Mississauga house prices are up 21% year-to-date (YTD).

Similar price decreases are also occurring in other locations in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) housing market this month, despite prices remaining higher than they were a year ago. That’s because rising mortgage rates this month may have scared some purchasers away from the market due to a rate rise by the Bank of Canada in September 2023.

Mississauga house prices are up 2% yearly. That is very similar to the GTA’s average price rise of 3% year over year. With an average house price of $1,113,948 in Brampton, which is once again more expensive than Mississauga’s typical home price, the housing market in the neighbouring city has seen its average sold price rise by 5% year over year. While Mississauga’s average home price dropped from the previous month, Brampton’s average home price rose.

When compared to the previous month, the median sold price of a property in Mississauga for September 2023 was $995,000, according to various indicators of home pricing. The benchmark house price in Mississauga was $1,106,100, an increase of 1% over the previous month.
