Revelstoke
Revelstoke is located on the southeast side of British Columbia, Canada. This city is abounding with the natural beauty. It is present between Selkirk and Monashee mountains. Revelstoke has been sustained and built for more than hundred years by the industries of rail, forest, and natural resources. It is an important transportation center because of its connection with the Canadian Pacific Railway.
Arrow Heights
It is an old neighborhood of Revelstoke. Here houses offer the seventies or brand new look. In Arrow Heights proximity everything is present that new residents need including Arrow Heights elementary school. For recreation and enjoyment there is Revelstoke Mountain Resort, Revelstoke’s Summer Swim Destination, and Williamson’s Lake. For evening stroll walking trails are also present neat residential areas.
Southside:
Southside is particularly famous for its Robust gardens and Italian community. Different home styles are common here including single-family building lots and manufactured home parks. Both Begbieview Elementary and Revelstoke secondary schools are present in this neighborhood. In nearby amenities, there is the Downtown and Southside market.
Downtown Revelstoke:
This neighborhood is a lovely mixture of old and new homes. It covers the distance of Mackenzie Avenue with the North and South neighborhoods. To preserve the look, most of the Downtown core has been designated as the Heritage zone. In its nearby amenities there is Begbieview elementary school and Revelstoke’s Secondary school. There is also a Revelstoke Community Pool. There are a lot of things to do here with vibrant Downtown, Performing Arts Center, shopping, and restaurants.
Big Eddy
It is named as the Big Eddy because of the larger sized eddy in the Columbia’s river. It is a neighborhood with the mixture of residential, commercial, and industrial properties. Life here is peaceful and quiet. In the nearby amenities, there is the Big Eddy market where you can find great Italian foods. There is also a liquor store and the Big Eddy Pub.
Columbia Park
It is located in the East of Trans Canada Highway. It is an expensive neighborhood with houses from the sixties. Revelstoke’s Golf course and Columbia Park Elementary schools is present in its nearby amenities. Many local hotels and restaurants with the great food options are also available. The residents have easy access to the Trans Canada Highway.
Facts
Revelstoke is present in a rainforest which is one of the rainforests in the World. There is an Inland temperate forest and old-growth forest around Revelstoke. The old-growth forest is the home of many animals and plants including hemlock and cedar trees in abundance. British Columbia is the only place to have a forest like this. Now, Revelstoke is famous for downhill Snowsports but in past, it was famous for ski jumping. The craze of ski jumping was brought by the Norwegians in the Revelstoke. Norwegians settled here in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
