There are two hospitals in the city i.e.
- Northern Lights Regional Health Centre
- Public Health Centre
Northern Lights Regional Health Centre provides a wide range of service. There is an emergency department that offers services 24/7. Fort McMurray Community Cancer Centre is also present in it. The main services it provides include Alberta Trauma Services, Adult Short-Term Mental Health Services, Regional Collaborative Service Delivery – School-based and school-linked mental health teams, Mental Health Information, Promotion and Prevention, and Stroke Prevention Clinic.
Elemntary & High Schools
Fort McMurray provides a wide range of services. It is also known as Fort McMurray Community Health Services. Its main services are Health Promotion Program, School Oral Health Services, Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) Program, Office of the Medical Officer of Health, Sexual Health Services, and Oral Health – Programs and Services.
Ten elementary schools, three high schools, and three alternative schools are working under the Fort McMurray Public School District. From the three high schools, two of them are also offering French immersion. There is also Fort McMurray Catholic School District in the city. Public Parks & Community Centres
There are many parks in the city for residents to spend quality time. The best of them are Golden Eagle Rv Park, Thickwood Park, Verge Park, LAV war memorial, and Beacon Hill Dog Park. Golden Eagle Rv Park is on the location that is perfect for fun and relaxation. Several events occur throughout the year in the park. The fireworks that occur on the lake for the 4th of July celebration is just marvelous. There are many community centers in the city for people to gather and have fun. Some of them are Welcome Centre, Suncor Community Leisure Centre, MacDonald Island Park, and Abram’s Landing. McDonald’s Island Park is the home of MiDance Academy. The MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery was presented by Kirschner Family Corporation. Many workshops and visual arts programs are organized regularly here. There is something for everyone to enjoy here. Suncor Community Leisure Centre is the key facility of the McDonalds Island Park. Every year it welcomes many guests. This is a place for every age group. You can enjoy sports competitions, hosting events and many other things here.
