Queen Elizabeth II Hospital offers a wide range of facility. It also has Grandee Prairie Cancer Centre. Main services it offers include Contracting, Procurement, and Supply Management, Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Program, Linen and Environmental Services, and Outpatient Cancer Drug Benefit Program. Grandee Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation is a registered charity. To improve patient care, it raises funds for specialized medical equipment and programs. GP New Regional Hospital and cancer center is there to help more northern patients.
Elementary & High Schools
There are four districts that operate schools in the city. These four districts are Grandee Prairie Public School District, Grandee Prairie Roman Catholic Separate School District No. 28, Peace Wapiti School Division No. 76, and Northwest Francophone Education Region No. 1. There are 18 schools that are operating under GPPSD, ten schools are operating under GPRCSSD, three schools are operating under PSWD, and only one school is operating under Northwest Francophone Education Region No. 1 that is École Nouvelle Frontière.
The best elementary schools of the city are Swanavon School, Maude Clifford Public School, Holy Cross Catholic School, Grandee Prairie Christian School, and Derek Taylor Public School. The top high schools of the city are Grandee Prairie Christian School, Bridge Network Outreach School, Avondale School, and Whispering Ridge Community School.
Public Parks & Community Centres
There are five parks in Grande Prairie, named as Muskoseepi Park, Moonshine Lake Provincial Park, O’Brien Provincial Park, Two Lakes Provincial Park, and Grandee Prairie BMX Bike Park. Muskoseepi Park is in the area of 1100 acres, and it passes through the heart of the city. It shows the natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of the region. O’Brien Provincial Park is in the south of the Grande Prairie at a distance of 15 kilometers.
The three best recreation centers of the city are Eastlink Center, Coca-Cola Center, Dave Barr Community Center. Many recreation activities and programs are offered by the Eastlink Center. It is best known for its cooking classes. The fully-equipped classrooms are ideal for baking classes, cooking demonstrations, and other culinary arts workshops. In its other services there is Dramatic Play, First aid training, floor hockey, Flow-Rider Lessons and Wave Rental. Coca-Cola Center has many services i.e. Figure Skating Drop-in, Children’s Play Area, Adult Programs, gymnasium, shinny hockey, auditorium, Day camps, playschool activities, and sports. It is also famous for birthday parties, corporate functions, meetings, and celebrations. High-speed Wi-Fi is also available here. Dave Barr Community Center provides families, sports organizations, and community groups with a friendly atmosphere. A wide range of activities is offered by it for both adults and children. It provides a suitable environment for the meetings. There is also Roller Hockey, Active Zone Programs, Family Day Home Program, and After-School Care Public Skating.
