Victoria
It is the capital city of British Columbia, Canada. Victoria is ranked at the seventh number with respect to the population density in Canada. It is also famous as “The Garden City”. It is named for Queen Victoria and it is one of the ancient places in Pacific Northwest. It is a city with a number of attractions and is a destination for tourism. It is present in the list of top twenty cities of the world with respect to standard lifestyle and quality living conditions. The population of the city comprises of students who have relocated here for education or retirees who come to enjoy themselves with the snow-free and relaxed climate of Victoria.

The schools in the city are managed and administrated by the Greater Victoria School District. Victoria High school, a public school, was founded in 1876 and is the oldest high school in North America region. French immersion programs along with English programs are now offered in most of the elementary schools in Victoria. Within the city location, different smaller schools are also present like Christ Church Cathedral School and Chinese School in Chinatown. Another famous school is Glen Lyon Norfolk School. Lester B. Pearson College of Pacific, an international school, is found in the municipality of the Western region of Victoria. Like other cities of British Columbia, Victoria also offers recreation and learning facilities to its inhabitants. The famous community places are Victoria West Community Centre that is an excellent place for peoples of all ages, Burnside Community center and Oak Lands Community Centre, etc. All these places are a source of various programs such as adult recreation, learning programs, and child learning events.
Numerous parks and open areas are found in Victoria at a walking distance and the Garden City nestled in the coastal territory is home to many gardens and municipal parks Famous parks and gardens include Hatley Park that is also a historical site, Saanich Parks with various trails and recreational amenities, Beacon Hill Park, Victoria Butterfly Gardens and The Gardens at HCP. There is also a hanging basket tradition in the city that is done to welcome the summer season and these traditions about 75 years old.
